Caught 1-2 yesterday on the WBD that were slightly smaller length-wise but not nearly as chunky as your fish.

Theres bigger in there if you caught him. Bet theres a 10 lber somewhere in that river... ive seen a 10 lber jump in a much smaller stream years ago. They exist

No. OMG. Not the WB Delaware! I've taken a viewer poll, and the consensus is, you can't emotionally handle it, The conditions are too ideal. I Finally got coherent waders/boots, and will be assualting the Farmy, which has been running well. However, I lean toward dry fly. I don't have the muscle you got anymore to deal with the tarpon.

And to make a fly change and know ,given the conditions , that your ‘River Soldier ‘ was what they were looking for. You nailed it! Incredible wise old wild brown! I’ve never seen a wild brown that big in these parts as of yet. But if anybody can get one on it ll be you. What’s next? I now you’re thinking at least a 24-30”er is in your realm and keeping you up at night. We’ll be here waiting patiently while you hunt it down! An advise, when fly is swinging do slow figure of 8 while fly is swinging, you’ll see you get more hits 😊 here in Europe is how we swing the wets and works great, great video 😊💯🎣

I know this was a year ago, but you may be fishing too heavy or too far (although sometimes you can't avoid that). Some of the trout you lost may have been snagged like that fish @12:00. The further you fish away, the more horizontal your line moves through the water, which ends up causing the line itself to hit/rub trout that don't see it. It will feel and look just like a take, but it isn't. When this happens and you set set the hook, it often foul hooks the fish. A similar thing can happen if you are fishing heavy and the nymph is dredging the bottom. If you are ticking bottom multiple times every cast, it not only messes with your ability to see/feel takes, but it also means you are likely fishing below the trout. If I'm euro nymphing, I always try to stay as close as possible and start out with as light of nymphs as I can get away with. Just some suggestions to hopefully help you land the big ones. Other than that, nice video. Sounds like you were having a blast.

How are you fishing under with all the green goop that constantly fouls up your flies?

You should scratch in some inch markers along the handle of your net. My big fish never leave the water. I put their nose up against the inside of the rim at the head of the net, straighten the fish out, and read off the length on the handle. It's easy to scratch the numbers too. You can blacken the scratches with a fine point felt tip pen and then coat with polyurethane or varnish. By the way, I love your videos. They are both real and real inspiring!

Been there. At 22:42 THAT bridge is the Whiteface Mt. ski area bridge. That structure is part of the power plant. I have caught many and I mean MANY 18 inch + right in THAT area and below the bridge. Largest I've ever SEEN caught - 23". I saw it. Big brown.

24 inchers are common in my river. Caught a 27.5 incher once. It was stupid big because 18 inchers are about 2.5 pounds and he was like 7 lbs. or more!
